Oils
SO.TU.LUB owns a unit of recycling used oils with a nominal capacity of treatment of 16000 T/year. Since its start-up in 1984 and to early nineties, SO.TU.LUB was using a ground-acid process which has been shown to be expensive and pollutant, since that last date and up to now, SO.TU.LUB uses its own process that it set up further to a research and development program. In order to be conform to the new process requirements, the industrial installation of SO.TU.LUB has undergone modifications by incorporating new Hi-Tech equipments.
Two cuts of regenerated basic oils are produced, one light cut 150 NR and one heavy cut 350 NR.

The consumption of basic oils in Tunisia has known a considerable qualitative evolution by promoting the light cuts with regard to the heavy ones, the thing that made used oils lighter and lighter and inversed the distribution of regenerated oils by favoring the light cut; moreover, the produced heavy cut that was initially 600 NR is now the 350 NR. Both cuts thus produced meet the international specifications of corresponding new basic oils and to the unceasingly growing requirements of SO.TU.LUB customers which are composed of multinational companies operating in oil field.

Greases
SO.TU.LUB has a greases manufacturing unit with a nominal capacity of 2400 T/year, it has a leading position on Tunisian market, a position that is more and more enhanced especially after the installation of homogenization machines that favor a better finishing of the produced greases. SO.TU.LUB produces four qualities of greases under different NLGI grades that meet its customers requirements mainly composed of multinational companies operating in oil field.
These four greases qualities are the following:

A Calcic grease based on calcium soap that suits any lubrication in hardly severe conditions

A Multi-service grease based on mixed soap of Lithium / Calcium or pure Lithium that suits the greasing of all machines organs operating in normal load and speed conditions

A Superstabil EP grease based on Lithium complex soap that benefits from the latest progress in lubricating greases technique. It suits the greasing of almost all machines organs within temperature ranging between – 20° C and +130° C.

An Akron EP grease based on complex Lithium soap. It is particularly anti-corrosive and has an exceptional stability owing to its high doping level. It is mainly adapted to greasing the equipment used in difficult conditions as chocks, vibrations, corrosive atmosphere and high loads.

Sub-Products
The regeneration of used oils gives out two sub-products: the first is used as adjuvant to bitumen, it is harmless to environment and the second is assimilated to the commercial gas oil.
In order to be in conformity with the behavior line it has fixed that is the environment protection, SO.TU.LUB. performs presently a local complementary study in order to confirm the conclusions already generated related to non-harming the environment by using the column bottom as adjuvant to bitumen and determine a kind of instructions for use in order to make the use of this product on site accessible to all contractors.
The new regeneration process gives off no harmful sub-product nor effluent to environment.
